About The Department

Since it's inception in 1886, the Church of God has been known as a praying and preaching movement with a strong emphasis on revival and evangelistic fervor. With the General Assembly of 2002, we are once again reminded of our early focus and mission.

The Evangelism & Home Missions Department has been involved in ministries and programs that strike at the very heart of the work of the Church since 1963 when the Department was formed.

The three major emphases of Evangelism & Home Missions ministries are:

• Soulwinning
• Church Planting
• Church Growth

These are the three major blocks upon which all evangelistic ministry may be built.

"To develop and implement ministries in soulwinning, church planting and church growth that will assist the local church to reach and reap the harvest of the 21st Century."
